Road Improvement

GVC annually delivers successful roadway improvement projects as well as multi-year capital expense plans for the upgrade and planning of a municipal roadway system.  The focus of these projects is not just to recognize the best method of improvement, but also to justify and prioritize the project to be compatible with available sources of funding.  Our staff has significant expertise with regards to pavement analysis, project development and implementation of street rehabilitation projects.  A variety of roadway improvement projects have established working relationships with many municipalities, private-sector clients, school districts, contractors and PennDOT representatives.

Our office is able to offer all services required to facilitate any roadway improvement projects.  These services include:

  • Pavement Analysis and Diagnostics
  • Design of Roadway Reconstruction or Rehabilitation Methods (including Full Depth Reclamation, Cold In-Place Recycling, Reconstruction, or Preventative Maintenance)
  • ADA Compliant Curb Ramps
    • Provide an Evaluation and Recommendation of Public and Private Access Ramps
    • Design of Ramps within Public Right-of-Way
    • Design of Ramps on Private Property
    • Design of Ramps on State Roads including PennDOT Review and Approval
  • Coordination with Municipalities, PennDOT, DEP and other Agencies
  • Utility Coordination
  • Right-of-Way and Easement Preparation
  • Culvert replacement including all permits required by Berks County Conservation District or DEP
  • Stormwater Evaluation and Storm Sewer Design
